To see our FULL eDNA report, check the link in our bio to head to our website, where it is published under the News tab!The American Eel (Anguilla rostrata) has a fascinating life cycle; they are all born in the Sargasso Sea, and go through many life stages, going from transparent to yellow, to any of a variety of colors. They migrate to fresh water as they grow.Small Eels are capable of climbing vertically, and are known to scale the Mactaquac Dam! Dams still pose a significant barrier to this globally endangered species While many find them snake-like in appearance, Eels are simply long-bodied fish.#fish #newbrunswick #environmentalDNA #nature #conservation ... To see our FULL eDNA report, check the link in our bio to head to our website, where it is published under the News tab!The Tomcod (Microgadus tomcod) can tolerate a wide range of salinities. Generally thought of as marine fish, there are indeed freshwater populations of land-locked Tomcod. Jemseg River and Grand Lake are very far inland for this species.Like many cod species, Tomcod sport barbels on their chins, and three dorsal fins on their backs!#fish #newbrunswick #environmentalDNA #nature #conservation ...
