Our other potential Salmonid source for our unknown DNA is the Lake Whitefish (Coregonus clupeaformis). They are more distantly related than Salmon, Trout, Char, and Taimen are to each other, and are recorded to be in Grand Lake.![]()
Salmonids are one of the orders of fish who have adipose fins; a smaller fin on the back between the dorsal fin and the tail.![]()
Adipose fins are sometimes deliberately clipped to mark fish for identification.![]()
