The Petitcodiac Watershed Alliance has created a free educational web game that helps teachers explore watershed and stormwater topics with their students.
The game includes teacher and student guides and is based on their Watershed and Sewershed Educational Resource.
Students can compare green vs. not-so-green neighbourhood designs and even build their own rain gardens! The game can be accessed here, and can be played in French or English.
To get started, make an account on the Troubadour platform. From there, you can add assignments to your, your child’s, or your students’ virtual Bulletin Board. The activities encourage the learner to set up and describe scenes using their own words and digital props.
The accompanying guides provide direction and explanations on the impacts the objects they place have on their world, reflecting the choices they may one day make as professionals and landowners.
