The Jemseg Grand Lake Watershed Association has published a free printable activity sheet for kids on our website. The sheet includes a colouring page where you can spot several species that live in Grand Lake Meadows (part of Atlantic Canada’s BIGGEST freshwater wetland system), a waterfowl matching game, and a Wood Duck maze! This project was made possible with support from Wildlife Habitat Canada.Follow this link to our website:jemseggrandlakewatershed.ca/resources/for-kids/#newbrunswick #free #colouringsheet #waterfowl #natureeducation #kids #wildlifehabitatcanada ...

On August 21, we did another Eurasian Water Milfoil survey! Our EWM surveys were possible with the support of Wildlife Habitat Canada. We checked further upstream in Salmon River this year. The red dotted line represents our path. Those following our work may notice an absence of points; this is because thankfully, no Eurasian Water Milfoil was observed. This is consistent with the near-absence of EWM we saw downstream last year.Time spent mapping absence is not wasted. Should EWM ever spread through Salmon River, we will have baseline data showing the changes since 2026.Special thanks to Iron Bound Cove RV Park for allowing us to launch from their property. We would like to survey the area where Long Creek meets Salmon River. If anyone knows a public access point where we can launch a paddleboard, or owns property here, send us an email at [email protected]#newbrunswick #invasivespecies #grandlakenb #salmonrivernb #eurasianwatermilfoil #WildlifeHabitatCanada ...
